TSUNAGARU ~GoTo2020~

discovery

On Sunday, September 22, Junior Chamber International Fuji in cooperation with the Fuji City is organizing an event called “Tsunagaru ~GoTo2020~” at the Shizuoka Prefectural Fuji Swimming Pool. The event will boost momentum and excitement for the Tokyo 2020 among local public, and publicize that Fuji-city will be hosting Swiss swimming athletes for the upcoming Games as a Host Town to Switzerland. This is also a part of our collaboration with Fuji city, in the context of our activities on the road to the Tokyo 2020.

There will be an entertainment show by Tritones aqua swimmers, Swiss music performance by Tamagawa Alphorn Club, and Swiss panel exhibitions in the presence of the Ambassador Paroz and the Mayor Konagai of Fuji city. Tritones is a water entertainment performing group, led by Mr. Fuwa from Fuji City, who is a former Japan record holder in 100M breaststroke. Requiring no words, Tritones combines swimming and synchronizing techniques in a comical way to appeal to any audience regardless of their nationality or age.

The Host Town Initiative was designed by the Japanese government in 2016 to promote cultural and sports exchanges between the population living outside Tokyo, foreign countries and visiting Olympic teams before and during the 2021 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. In other words, pre-game training camps, lectures and festivals will be held all over Fuji City, providing Swiss athletes and Japanese locals with unique opportunities to meet, exchange and create new ties that will outlast 2021.
