SEED by ASF_a leap forward
“ASF_a leap forward” (ASF) is an online and offline forum for contemporary art with a focus on sustainability. The name ASF_a leap forward stands for "art for a sustainable future". Within the exhibition program, ASF hosts panel discussions, artist talks, and a Virtual-Reality artwork project with Japanese and Swiss students under the age of 18. Selected parts of the program will be live streamed online, and some artworks will be shown in its online room.
In its first exhibition ASF collects the seed of art to contribute to sustainability and new ways to approach it. The artists are encouraged to tackle at least one of the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and incorporate them in their artwork.
ASF selected 8 "SEED" artists from Japan, Australia, Taiwan and Switzerland. Some of them include: Izumi Sakamoto, Koharu Kawakatsu, Jasmin Glaab, Roy Andres Hofer, Susi Kramer, Weiyun Chang, Thomas C. Chung and Satoru Takahashi. SEED is the exhibition title for the opening of the new exhibition series in Tokyo.
ASF is a new platform organized by the international artist-run collective a-space and the Tokyo-based start-up incubator R-StartupStudio. It aims to show a new series of cutting-edge art exhibitions, in connection with the 17 SDG.
