A UNESCO-classifed building, the National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo was designed 60 years ago by Le Corbusier. To celebrate this anniversary, the exhibition "Le Corbusier and the Age of Purism" presents a corpus of works from the 1920s and onward by the visionary Swiss architect. The catalogue focuses on the 10 years during which young Charles-Édouard Jeanneret (the architect’s given name) led the Purism movement in Paris, after having left Switzerland. His various activities during that period, such as painting, architecture, urban planning, publishing and interior design, are on display.
